Khaya charcoal

The khaya tree has a straight trunk and a wide canopy that can reach heights of 30 to 40 meters. To harvest wood, Khaya is planted in Vietnam’s central highlands.

The Khaya tree (Khaya senegalensis) is highly valued for its timber, which has many applications. The wood from large, old Khaya trees is commonly used in the construction of ships, houses, and furniture, while young, small trees are often used to produce charcoal.

Charcoal made from Khaya wood is particularly sought after for its long burning time and gentle, steady heat. Unlike other types of charcoal, Khaya charcoal produces almost no sparks or flames, making it a safer and more efficient option for cooking and heating.
